"Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?" is a song by American electronica musician Moby. It was released on Oct eleven, 1999, as the quaternary unmarried from his 5th studio album Play. It became a hit in several regions, including German-speaking Europe and the United Kingdom.

Background and limerick [edit]

"Why Does My Heart Feel And so Bad?" was originally written past Moby in 1992 in an iteration which Moby would depict as "really bad techno... Just mediocre, generic techno."[i] Years afterward, Moby revisited the song, reproducing it as a considerably slower and more "mournful and romantic" song, which he eventually included on his fifth studio album, Play after beingness encouraged to do and so past his manager, Eric Härle.[one] The track is based on the samples from The Banks Brothers' «He'll Ringlet Your Burdens Away» (1963).[2]

Release [edit]

"Why Does My Heart Experience So Bad?" was released on October eleven, 1999 by Mute Records as the fourth single from Play.[3] The single peaked at number xvi on the UK Singles Chart.[4] It too reached the top ten on the charts of several other European territories, including Republic of austria,[5] Switzerland,[vi] and Federal republic of germany, where it reached number three, its highest acme chart position.[seven] At the time, Moby felt that the single's success in Germany was "as far as whatsoever success for Play was gonna become."[i]

On Oct xvi, 2000, "Why Does My Heart Experience So Bad?" was re-released as a double A-side single with a remix of "Dearest" featuring American R&B singer Kelis, reaching number 17 on the U.k. Singles Nautical chart.[8] [9] [10]

Music video [edit]

The music video for "Why Does My Middle Feel So Bad?" was directed by Filipe Alçada, Hotessa Laurence, and Susi Wilkinson.[11] It is completely animated and features the grapheme Little Idiot, who is also featured on the "Why Does My Middle Experience Then Bad?" unmarried cover. The video depicts Footling Idiot and his pet domestic dog coming down from the Moon to Earth and traveling through a diverseness of locations, before eventually climbing back to the Moon on a ladder.
